SYNOPSIS: September 1918 on the Western Front and Tommy Atkins and Dave Rawlings, struggling to stay alive until the end of World War I, receive an unexpected visit from Lieutenant Hargreaves announcing that Tommy is to be awarded the Military Medal. Why, then, are they so keen to see th back of him and who is the strange Icelandic character who enters the scene, brandishing a sausage.
